  • STREIFBANDZEITUNG (wrapper-packed newspapers) are sent in a wrapper or a banderole which completely covers the newspaper. This enables the Germany-wide delivery of the shipment on the next working day.
    Five franking options are available: Use the FRANKIT franking machine, the Frankierservice (franking service), the franking wave or IT franking. With the product stamp or Internet stamp for STREIFBANDZEITUNG (wrapper-packed newspapers) the shipments can be posted in the nearest Deutsche Post mailbox without a posting list.

Always use a wrapper which stops the content from falling out and ensures that it can be processed mechanically, e.g., with an envelope or a banderole. However, the banderole must completely cover the item, or at least both the longitudinal edges must be closed along their entire length. Sending as a roll-shaped item is not allowed.

Using the franking mark, AFM/FRANKIT, IT franking, Frankierservice (franking service) and the STREIFBANDZEITUNG (wrapper-packed newspapers) product stamp or Internet stamp. The postage is based on the individual weight (see current price list for Deutsche Post Presse Distribution).

 

The STREIFBANDZEITUNG (wrapper-packed newspapers) product stamp and Internet stamp are available from Deutsche Post’s electronic outlet at Shop der Deutschen Post.

1.  Print the addresses of the recipient and the sender.

2. You can place permissible sender’s instructions above the address.

3. The "STREIFBANDZEITUNG" product name and the newspaper code (ZKZ) of the newspaper to be sent must be visible on the wrapping of the item.

With FRANKIT, IT franking, franking mark or Frankierservice (franking service):

1. Download the posting list, fill it in and print it out

2. Pack the items in letter trays and hand them in at your retail outlet or bulk mail acceptance office (for more than 500 items, always use the bulk mail acceptance office)

Using the STREIFBANDZEITUNG (wrapper-packed newspapers) product stamp or Internet stamp:

1. Order dispatch stamps in the electronic outlet at Shop der Deutschen Post

2. Affix the dispatch stamp and post the shipment in a mailbox

You can avoid the posting list only if the shipments are franked with the STREIFBANDZEITUNG (wrapper-packed newspapers) product stamps or Internet stamps.

POSTVERTRIEBSSTÜCK (preferred periodicals) and PRESSESENDUNG (standard periodicals) sent as STREIFBANDZEITUNG (wrapper-packed newspapers) items may contain inserts (printed material, objects up to a height of 30 mm, as well as bills and payment slips relating to the charges payable for the newspaper).

For STREIFBANDZEITUNG (wrapper-packed newspapers), the amount to be paid for franking is calculated solely in relation to the overall weight of the shipment. There is no additional charge for bills, payment slips and enclosed objects between 3 and 30 mm in height.

The requirements in relation to packaging and ensuring that letter mail items are suitable for transportation and operational handling apply as appropriate.

With STREIFBANDZEITUNG (wrapper-packed newspapers), multiple copies of one or a number of titles may be dispatched – providing there is a Presse Distribution agreement for them. The bill will be for the total weight of the shipments, at the rates for STREIFBANDZEITUNG (wrapper-packed newspapers).

Acceptance may be refused if the STREIFBANDZEITUNG (wrapper-packed newspapers) item does not meet dispatch requirements. Shipments already posted may be returned for you to sort out any defects.

Where copies are in breach of contract or are not – or only insufficiently – franked, the shipment is handled as a letter mail communication product and an additional charge may be levied. If no payment is made, this is considered a refusal to accept the shipment. The shipment is then returned to the sender who has to pay the additional charge. Closed shipments may be opened for checking purposes.
