Due to the fact that all crypto stamps are produced and sent in a neutral, opaque envelope, it is not possible to say whether a color variant is still available or already sold out. Production and delivery are purely random.

No, the crypto stamp is packed in a neutral envelope. As soon as you have opened it, the statutory right of withdrawal is excluded.

Yes, there is a first-use postmark as well as the option of obtaining other types of postmarks (e.g. special postmark, date stamp). The usual regulations for philatelic postmarks apply.

In general, every stamp production process produces “waste”, i.e. insufficient or damaged stamps. The corresponding serial numbers cannot be used again for security reasons. In order not to artificially reduce the available quantity for our customers, additional products with consecutive numbering are produced. For example, a crypto stamp with the serial number 125,638 can exist even though there are actually only 100,000 copies in total.

The mixing of the colours is not the responsibility of the staff at Deutsche Post Service and Distribution Centre; the goods are delivered there completely sealed.
The mixing is completed by the supplier in the process of production - an improvement in mixing in the serial numbers is planned from the ”Schloss Neuschwanstein” issue onwards.

A crypto stamp is a combination of a physical stamp and its digital image, to which a non-fungible token (NFT) is clearly assigned in the blockchain.

In addition to the crypto stamp, you can set up an account with our cooperation partner Ciphers.me and thus enter the digital collecting world there as well. Once you have accessed your digital motif there using the booklet, only one last step is required for provision as an NFT: your own digital wallet. You can already create the MetaMask wallet needed for this.

The NFT for the crypto stamp is created on Polygon. This is a public blockchain frequently used for NFTs that works with the "proof of stake" procedure and can thus carry out transactions with low energy input.

Crypto stamps are dispatched from the respective issue date. Alternatively, you can also order a subscription for all crypto stamps via Service- und Versandzentrum Weiden. You will then be supplied automatically in the respective quarter and delivery will be free of charge.

The digital image of the crypto stamp is available as an NFT (non-fungible token). For your unique ownership of this NFT, this data is stored in the blockchain so that you can include it in your personal digital wallet.

The series "Historic Buildings in Germany" is the creative framework for a crypto stamp series. The theme was chosen to build an interesting bridge between the past and future (historical buildings vs. artificial intelligence, NFT art and digital art).

The Public-ID is a unique identifier that enables the identification of your crypto stamp at Ciphers.me. You will find it under "So funktioniert's" above the field of the hidden PIN.

You need the PIN to add your crypto stamp to your collection at Ciphers.me. You will find it under "So funktioniert's" below the field of the Public-ID. It is labeled as PIN and must be scratched free to reveal the number.

Once you have linked the digital image of your crypto stamp and your wallet with your Ciphers.me account, you can request your NFT at Ciphers.me. The NFT is then irreversibly linked in the blockchain with your wallet, or minted.

Once you have received your crypto stamp, the digital image must be linked with your account at Ciphers.me. In this way, you collect and claim this digital image.

At our partner platform Ciphers.me, you can collect your crypto stamps and transfer them to your wallet as NFTs.

Our QR code makes it easier to collect your crypto stamp by sending the entry of the Public-ID directly to the web browser through your device's camera, rather than having to enter it manually at Ciphers.me.

As for all stamps with a matrix code, customers can receive further information on the stamp and shipment status through the Post & DHL app. This includes the product type, stamp number, nominal value, producer, etc.

You can collect your crypto stamps on our partner platform Ciphers.me and transfer your crypto stamps to your wallet as NFTs.

There are no further costs or fees for first-time activation of the NFT.

The NFT stays in your wallet and your collection even if the postage stamp is used for franking.

The stamp is a regular and official German stamp. It is suitable for franking a letter in the respective postage rate printed on it and can be used without limitations.

A digital wallet is a basic requirement for using NFT features.

An NFT (non-fungible token) is a digital collectible that belongs exclusively to you and confirms that you are in possession of something special, such as the digital image of your stamp with a unique number, or a digital piece of art.

The unique number of the included postage stamp makes the digital image of the NFT unique as well. This unique image receives a unique address in the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) and is deposited in your wallet as an NFT.

A wallet is a digital pocketbook that enables the owner to securely manage numerous digital data in the blockchain. Hardware-based wallets also exist in addition to the implementation as software or web services.

What they all have in common is that they employ secure cryptographic processes for storage and carrying out transactions. This includes the tracking of property (NFT) or the receipt/issue of cryptocurrency.

MetaMask is a digital wallet for managing elements in the blockchain. These elements can be NFTs (non-fungible tokens) or cryptocurrencies. As a digital wallet, it supports the use of all tokens based on the Ethereum blockchain.

Go to https://metamask.io, download the app or browser add-in and follow the subsequent instructions.

Your MetaMask wallet is set to Ethereum by default. Click in your MetaMask wallet on <Add network> and add Polygon mainnet.

Once you have collected the digital image of the crypto stamp at the partner platform Ciphers.me and linked your wallet with the platform, you can select your crypto stamp there and deposit it in your wallet with a click.

The crypto stamp does not become available in your personal wallet until the NFT has been created. If the NFT isn't directly displayed in the wallet, it can be integrated by importing the NFT.

In any case, the NFT is assigned following creation of the personal wallet address even if it isn't directly displayed in the wallet software.

The settings (including e.g. import of NFTs) always apply for the current device only. As soon as you have imported them to your wallet on another device, you must update your wallet settings for this specific device. That also means you must once again import your NFT on this new device.

1. Call up your crypto stamp at Ciphers.me.
2. Scroll to the section "Stamp details" and copy the (Token) ID and Contract Address to the clipboard.
3. Make sure your MetaMask wallet is switched to Polygon.
4. Select the <NFTs> tab in MetaMask, scroll down and tap the link <Import NFTs>.
5. Insert the Contract Address of the NFT from your clipboard into the <Address> field and the (Token) ID into the <ID> field.

The NFT is part of a digital contract, also known as a smart contract. This contract also includes the wallet, which is the issuer of the digital image - in this case Deutsche Post. All of this information is publicly and irreversibly stored in the blockchain and viewable. Only the owner of the issuer wallet can create this NFT. This wallet address is public and must correspond to our wallet address.

A blockchain is a secure database distributed through a network. Information is stored in it as data blocks that build on one another. These blockchains grow constantly. This is verified and confirmed through the nodes distributed throughout the network, and protects against manipulation. This mechanism enables the clear documentation of ownership of an NFT, and thus in this case our crypto stamp.

Polygon and Concordium are so-called public blockchains in which NFTs, for example, are managed.

The NFTs of Deutsche Post are stored in the Polygon blockchain because it accounts for ecological aspects and, in particular, these types of applications are widespread on it.

In the future, the NFT will also be available for the Concordium blockchain. This is a blockchain with identifiable participants.

Minting of an NFT refers to the creation of a unique token in a blockchain. Only after the NFT has been minted is this digital collectible stored in the blockchain. Once this digital object has been stored in the blockchain, it can no longer be modified or deleted.

Contract is the abbreviated form of smart contract. It refers to the address at which this digital contract can be found. A smart contract is like an automated contract in the blockchain that automatically carries out certain actions if specified requirements are met. It guarantees compliance with the rules and conditions for NFTs, which makes transactions transparent, secure and trustworthy. You can find the contract address for your NFTs at Ciphers.me on the stamp details page. You need the contract address together with the (Token) ID to import your NFT in your MetaMask wallet.

A Token ID is the unique identification code for an NFT. It is an important data point that is used to distinguish one NFT from another on the blockchain.
