DIALOGPOST – Franking

We offer you various options for franking your shipments.

Franking wave

Example of
DIALOGPOST franking wave, national

The following criteria apply to the franking wave:

  • Application to the upper right-hand corner of the address side within the franking zone
  • The background must be monochrome and light-colored
  • The franking mark should be printed in black

Abbreviated franking mark

Example of abbreviated franking mark

The abbreviated franking mark is applied in the address area. The mark must be clearly visible/readable on the right above the address. In this case, the franking zone must be kept free of letters and numbers, however it may be printed in color. The abbreviated franking mark is therefore ideal for DIALOGPOST franking without wrapping.

Customized presentation

Example of DIALOGPOST customized presentation.

The customized presentation may only be used:

  • as a franking mark when posting shipments to be paid for in cash or with POSTCARD (DIALOGPOST National), or
  • in combination with IT franking with matrix code in the address area.

IT franking

Example of IT franking with data matrix code in the window

When using the IT franking method (by agreement with Deutsche Post), the DIALOGPOST shipment type is indicated on the label.

Franking machine

Example of FRANKIT franking mark

DIALOGPOST can also be franked using franking machines, using the former traditional franking machines as well as FRANKIT machines. Franking only relates to the relevant basic charge – surcharges and other DIALOGPOST services must be billed separately using the posting list created. "Dialogpost" is printed in the franking mark when Frankit machines are used. The "Postage paid" mark created when using classic franking machines is still tolerated for posting for the time being.

Cancelation by the sender


Example of use of digital printing systems
In black, without date, with individual serial number

In the case of cancelation by the sender, the DIALOGPOST shipments are franked with stamps and then stamped with a relevant mark before posting. To be able to use cancelation by the sender, a contract must be concluded with Deutsche Post (contact: absenderstempelung@deutschepost.de).

Don’t have the right postage stamps? We will reimburse you for any overpayment up to the next highest value postage stamp.

We will take over the franking or cancelation by the sender process for DIALOGPOST shipments for an additional charge. There are no discounts for presorted shipments.
